HOW IT WORKS
Built Different Than What You're
Used To
Tiger Balm and Namman Muay Thai oil have been in gym bags for decades for a reason, they work. But they're petroleum and carrier oil bases. Greasy by design. Fine mid-session when you're already soaked through. Not ideal when you want targeted relief before you wrap your hands, or when you're applying it to a friction burn after training.
Ok Tallow Sport Balm is formulated on a grass-fed tallow base — the same lipid profile as your skin's own natural oils. It absorbs instead of sitting on the surface. The push-up stick format puts the balm exactly where you need it with zero runoff. No oily hands. No mess on your gear.
Same heat. Same relief. Cleaner application. Better ingredients.
BEFORE TRAINING: Menthol, camphor, and wintergreen create penetrating warmth that loosens stiff joints and tight muscle tissue before you start moving.
AFTER TRAINING: Capsaicin, black pepper, and ginger drive circulation to overworked muscle groups, reducing inflammation and supporting recovery.
SKIN BARRIER: Grass-fed tallow delivers vitamins A, D, E, and K. Beeswax seals application. Arrowroot cuts residual greasiness.
FULL INGREDIENT BREAKDOWN
Grass-Fed Tallow
The base. Mirrors the lipid profile of human skin — absorbs rather than sits. Loaded with fat-soluble vitamins A, D, E, and K. Anti-inflammatory and bioavailable to stressed skin.
Mango Butter
Dense emollient that softens and rebuilds the skin barrier. Works with tallow to reduce texture of friction burns and roughed-up skin.
Beeswax
Adds structure to the push-up format. Creates staying power. Seals active compounds so they work longer after application.
Arrowroot Powder
Cuts the residual greasiness from the tallow and butter base. The reason RECOVER wears clean.
Menthol Crystals
Fast-acting cooling and penetrating warmth. Signals nervous system to release muscle tension. Increases local blood flow.
Camphor Oil
Deep penetrating heat. Works with
menthol to loosen stiff, cold muscle tissue. Staple in combat sports liniments
for over a century.
Wintergreen Oil
Contains methyl salicylate — same active compound in many OTC muscle relief products. Anti-inflammatory, warming, natural circulation driver.
Clove Oil
Natural analgesic and anti-inflammatory. Numbs minor surface pain while reducing localized inflammation.
Capsaicin Extract
Depletes substance P (pain neurotransmitter) with repeated use. Drives deep circulation. This is the long-game ingredient.
Black Pepper Essential Oil
Warming circulatory stimulant. Amplifies the heat compounds. Supports lymphatic drainage and moves metabolic waste from fatigued tissue.
Ginger Essential Oil
Anti-inflammatory and warming. Reduces delayed onset muscle soreness (DOMS) and eases joint stiffness.
Jojoba Oil
Lightweight carrier and delivery agent. Helps active compounds penetrate past the skin surface.
Raw Organic Honey
Naturally antimicrobial. Soothes and calms inflamed or damaged skin — particularly useful on friction burns and mat grime irritation.
HOW TO USE
Before Training:
Apply directly to tight or stiff
areas — neck, traps, lower back, hip flexors, ankles. Use 2–3 swipes of the
push-up stick. Let sit 2–3 minutes before wrapping or gearing up. Do NOT apply to face, open cuts, or mucous membranes.
After Training:
Apply to sore muscle groups, friction burns, or inflamed joints immediately post-session or after showering. A little goes a long way — start with less than you think you need.
On the Go:
Fits any gym bag or gear bag. Cap stays on, no leaking, no mess. Travel-ready.
Note: Ok Tallow Sport Balm has a noticeable scent from menthol, camphor, and
wintergreen. Applied correctly (conservatively), it fades to a background
warmth rather than an overwhelming odor.
FAQ
Q: Is OK Tallow Sport Balm safe for BJJ, Muay
Thai, and wrestling?
A: Yes. Formulated specifically for contact sport athletes. Apply before or after training. Give it a few minutes to absorb before rolling — don't apply immediately before contact with training partners.
Q: Does it leave a greasy
residue?
A: Less than Tiger Balm or Namman. The tallow base absorbs, and arrowroot cuts the residual feel significantly. Some warmth on the skin but no messy oily transfer.
Q: How strong is the smell?
A: Strong but not overwhelming if applied correctly. Camphor, menthol, and wintergreen are the dominant notes. Functional, not perfumed.
Q: Can I use it on my face?
A: No. Do not apply to the face, near eyes, or on broken skin. Capsaicin and camphor concentrations are designed for larger muscle groups and joints.
Q: Is it natural / clean?
A: Yes. No petroleum, no synthetic fragrance, no parabens, no preservatives. Every ingredient is functional and food-grade or therapeutic-grade.
Q: How long does one stick last?
A: One 1 oz push-up stick typically lasts 30–45 uses with conservative application on one or two muscle groups per session.
